WE RAISE THE COMOX
VALLEY’S HEALTHIEST PIGS

Our pigs are fed the highest quality grains that contain no added growth hormones, antibiotics, or animal by-products. We purchase all of the feed for the pigs. The manure from the pigs is spread on the fields. The manure fertilizes the forage crops that we harvest and feed to the cattle.

Our health-focussed farming methods ensure that our animals are treated ethically and is well cared for through meticulous cleaning of the barns and regular veterinary check ups.

Our commitment is to market the leanest and tastiest pork and beef produced from our exclusive breeding stock that is hand picked for its health and superior qualities.

Did you know that our pigs are housed in buildings that provide protection from the elements, abundant light and excellent ventilation.

Did you know that Tannadice Farms adheres to a national standard of care for its pigs? The Canadian Pork Excellence Program is a Canada wide initiative that has been adopted by most pork producers. This program guarantees the quality of care for Canadian swine herds and the pork produced by them. This means that Tannadice Farms and its pigs are rigorously inspected by a specialized veterinarian twice each year. With such oversite, customers can be confident the pork they consume came from a farm that believes in and maintains a high level of ethical care and handling of its animals.

HEALTHIER, TASTIER BEEF

We have a small herd of purebred Angus cows, both black and red. The cattle are fed and finished on forage crops produced on our farm. The cattle graze when conditions are right and are fed silage from our farm. They don’t receive medications, added hormones or antibiotics in their feed.

PASTURE RANGE TURKEY

Our turkeys arrive at our farm as day-old poults and are initially kept in a climate-controlled area to protect them from temperature fluctuations. Once they are big enough, they spend their days outside on grass fields, enjoying fresh air and sunlight.

Their primary diet consists of high-quality grains, which they naturally supplement with grass and insects found in their paddock. Our turkeys are curious and friendly, always eager to interact with us, making them a delightful part of our farm family… Gobble Gobble!
